The Hired Guns are seeking an insanely talented and experienced Lead Product Manager, Site Platform to dive into an ongoing high-priority, high-visibility initiative to replatform the site of a nationally renowned retailer. This is a director-level role in terms of seniority, authority, and compensation.
The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!
This icon of American retail has achieved more than ten consecutive years of double-digit growth. Now, they’re driving to build a new type of customer-centric shopping experience at the intersection of content, commerce, and technology. That’s why they need an ambitious and highly capable Principal Product Manager who will lead a site-wide replatforming initiative. We’re talking rebuilding the bones from the ground up in order to enable mission-critical objectives that will enable the entire business to create a differentiated shopping experience. Beyond this specific initiative, you’ll help bring the site’s capabilities (e.g., improved A/B testing technology, etc.) to a world-class level, partner closely with the UX team to work on a site redesign, and create systems that help expand the business’s technical capabilities across verticals.
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You have a customer-centric, collaborative spirit and more than 10 years of experience working in a highly matrixed organization with big stakeholders. You’re passionate about building great products and solving customer and business problems, and you have a proven track record of partnering with Engineering to make the most of best-in-class tools and technologies. You’ve worked on successful site redesigns and replatforming initiatives, you can speak to how you measured the success of your last major product release, and you have zero qualms presenting to senior leadership. It’s a bonus if you’ve previously been a developer and can speak their language. If you’re someone who nerds out over reusable component libraries and can explain the differences between Vue.js and React or Angular, then this is most definitely the job for you!
