The Hired Guns are seeking a passionate, team-oriented Lead UX Designer to shape cross-channel user experience design for a top-ten e-commerce company whose impressive growth is making headlines!
The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!
By skillfully combining the power of the Internet with the best in retailing, this iconic business has quickly become a top-ten e-tailer poised to reach new digital heights in 2022 (yes, you want to get your foot in this door!). Due to their rapid growth in scale and success, they’re looking for a highly skilled Lead UX Designer to define the experience roadmap for features and functionalities for this iconic retailer/e-tailer’s web, mobile apps, and in-store environments, ensuring a consistent user experience across these different platforms.
You will be responsible for designing current and future domain user experiences that meet long-term and short-term business goals and user needs (e.g. KPI’s and user success metrics). As a team player, you’ll collaborate effectively with managers, product managers, engineers, and researchers to define, conceptualize, and design user-facing products. You’ll work through domain design problems from beginning to end: conceptualizing new products and features, designing storyboards, workflows, interactions, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and design standards based on business goals and user research. Plus, you will get to mentor younger designers on the team and champion a winning strategic vision for one of America’s most talked-about retail companies. Don’t sit on this one.
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 7 years of experience designing across digital channels – i.e. consumer mobile applications, websites, or retail stores. A BA/BS in Design is required, preferably in UX related fields of HCI, Industrial Design, Product Design, Architecture or Graphic Design (Masters degree is preferred). Strong candidates will have a proven track record of leading and delivering elegant, world-class designs in a fast-paced, collaborative, cross-functional team environment. You’re quick to make data-driven decisions that inform the design of the experience. You possess solid negotiation skills across a variety of audiences, and you can successfully advocate solutions among peers and executive leadership. Plus, you have a natural ability to inspire, develop, and coach team members. Your collaboration and communication skills are something bosses and coworkers love about you. Oh, and your portfolio shows a UX talent that is grounded in an impeccable design aesthetic.
P.S. E-commerce design or retail design experience is a giant plus, but not a requirement.
