The Hired Guns are seeking a Manager of Marketing Analytics for a professional association with over 300,000 members. Like many companies, this organization is on a quest in 2019 to build itself into much more of a data-driven company, and you will be at the epicenter of making that happen as the fearless leader of the team which is also hiring a data science specialist.
Success Looks Like This
This organization is built to move quickly to enact recommendations based on your stellar analysis, so you’ll build your own KPIs and dashboards and have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership to make a real impact upon the organization as a whole.
Nitty Gritty
In this role, you’ll start on several strategic initiatives, first identifying the business needs of the organization, then building the requirements for the toolset your team will need to track opportunities and impact. Next, you’ll work across the organization to implement and launch your fine-tuned analytical machine. From there, you’ll work hand-in-hand with multiple teams to monitor, set milestones and warning tracks, and demonstrate how the marketing budget can best be spent to maximize returns on business-critical campaigns.
You’ll balance data integrity across multiple platforms, based on different audiences, goals, and stakeholders. You’ll work to improve the performance of campaigns designed to engineer growth of subscribers (paid and unpaid), increase quality registrations to signature conferences and events, and drive booking for online education and classes.
Hired Gun Profile
We need a analytics marketing mathlete who loves to tell stories with data. You not only know how to guide and mentor the folks who report to you, but you also help key stakeholders understand how to drive business through big data and become excited by its possibilities.
Our client would love someone who has overseen a big data transformation within a company that is already successful — because there are some unique challenges that go along with that problem set. That means experience overseeing large, complex datasets is must. A master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Math or Data Science would be a major plus. Last, you’re a confident leader who knows how to hire, mentor and build an operation that will become the backbone of marketing for the entire company.
Inside Skinny
Of course a candidate from a top-level membership-driven organization would be a direct hit. That said, our client would be just as excited to interview someone from a major media company or a top ecommerce company who has transformed a culture to be more data-forward. This position is based in the Washington, DC/Virginia area. The client would be open to relocating someone amazing from another market.
Net-Net
This role affords you the opportunity to build out an analytics program from scratch. If you have the technical chops and the soft skills to get this done, you may be able to build something for yourself in the process.
