The Hired Guns are seeking a Search Engine Marketing Manager to take charge of all paid search marketing for a top e-commerce retailer.
The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!
As the Search Engine Marketing Manager, you’ll oversee this e-commerce giant’s multi-million-dollar annual paid search budget, managing programs on Google, Bing, AOL, and other key CPC platforms. Based on your management’s acquisition forecast, you’ll create a promotional calendar, plan conversion events, and work to optimize on- and off-line sales. You’ll set up testing plans for copy, format, landing pages, and automation in order to improve performance mid-stream, and you’ll monitor and report on daily performance and generate business insight for key internal stakeholders.
Obviously hands-on skills are mission-critical for the role, but there’s also a need for you to be a consummate communicator across business areas: you’ll be in tight with the merchandising and buying teams to exchange their ground-level knowledge of market trends and vendor co-op opportunities for your insights and recommendations based on your expertise in paid search best practices and emerging strategies.
On top of that, you’ll build and mentor direct reports on your team, educate colleagues on the value of SEM, and serve as the key go-to person for on-the-fly awareness of program progress and success.
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You’re a great people manager, an insightful data cruncher, have a proven ability to work cross-functionally, enjoy owning your work and are able to clearly articulate the business case for SEM decision-making. You’re passionate about SEM and are excited to have impact at scale.
You’ve got at least three years of hands-on SEM experience, ideally in the retail space. Managerial or supervisory experience is a plus. You’re highly skilled with a third-party search bidding tool such as Marin or Kenshoo, as well as with Coremetrics, Omniture, or other analytics platforms. Advanced skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required, and MS Access proficiency is desired.
The Inside Skinny
Why you should quit your job right now and join this organization!
You’re looking at a major-league accelerator for your career trajectory — bigger scale, bigger responsibility, bigger team, bigger budget, and all the resources you need to become a leader in your field!
