The Hired Guns are seeking an accomplished Senior Strategist of Branded Content to spearhead content strategy and development for a budding lifestyle platform at a major media company.

A renowned media company is about to launch its nascent branded content lifestyle platform at the end of Q1, and they’re looking for a super-savvy Senior Strategist of Branded Content to swoop in and lead all content strategy. In this role, you will be attached at the hip to the sales team collaborating on media planning, impressions, etc. You will be tasked with handling an average of three net-new RFPs per week, plus revisions of RFPs already in play, so you can figure on about five RFPs needing your TLC each week. You’ll also be juggling about 15 net-new pitches per week. You will steer all creative ideation and content development processes. Your ability to find “the hook,” craft the story, and bring it to life for clients, both visually and verbally, will be the true catalyst to a campaign’s success. This is a great opportunity to hone your branded content strategy skills with a highly visible, well-resourced company. You’ll be getting in on the ground floor with nowhere to go but up!
This role will start out fully remote, working Eastern Time hours. Post-pandemic, the ideal scenario would be hybrid, commuting to either the Boston or New York City office one or two days per week. Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You have 8+ years of relevant experience at an agency, media or publishing company, or an integrated marketing-sales organization. You have extensive experience participating in cross-platform content ideation and client presentation development, as well as a deep knowledge of online media, marketing, and advertising. You’re adept at creating custom proposals and sponsorship packages in response to advertisers’ briefs. Huge plus if you’re great at pitching in person. You must be comfortable working closely with the sales and media planning teams, handling a large volume of RFPs. You’ve managed a team before and are jazzed by mentoring and building out a best-in-class organization. Working with clients in the alcohol/beverage, fintech, tech, and automotive industries is a plus. Bonus if you have video experience.
