Some of the world’s biggest and most trusted companies rely on this PR firm to spread the word about them and their products, and they need a natural-born storyteller for a senior position on their social-media team. If you’ve got health and/or pharma in your background, management skill, and an undying passion for social, we want to hear from you.
Nitty Gritty
This is a high-level role — the VPs report to you — with lots and lots of operational control, tasked with executing the social media strategy. You’ll have all kinds of resources and multiple teams to get the work done. The challenge? Create irresistible, attention-getting, cutting-edge content, across accounts, while doing justice to the sophistication of these clients and their life-changing products.
You’ll roll up your sleeves, sit down with clients, carefully review their materials, and then use your razor-sharp editorial mind to develop campaigns and individual stories that’ll shoot them to the stratosphere. Armed as you are with a deep-seated sense of what moves audiences, a finely honed narrative ability, and an up-to-the-minute understanding of social media best practices, you’ll pull out all the stops to deliver content that makes full use of the available tools and techniques, from traditional structures through video, graphics and even (coming soon) virtual reality.
Hired Gun Profile
You are, first and foremost, a consummate public-relations pro, one who has found in social media a tool of choice and a happy home. You’ve got pharma experience under your belt, including product PR — that is, you’ve done social for a drug on the market either in-house or at a PR firm. You can point to some truly innovative and gosh-darn interesting stories you’ve produced, and you come with some fine ideas for more already in place.
Of course, you have VP-level executive experience. You function well interacting with the C-suite and you truly enjoy inspiring and guiding teams to give their best. You’re an extremely clear communicator who listens very well (People often remark that you “get it.”). You ask good questions. And somehow, somewhere in the process of talking and listening and thinking, great ideas come to you and you suddenly know just exactly how to communicate with the public about a product. That’s your gift, and you’re eager to share it and to foster it in yourself and others.
Inside Skinny
All well and good if you have a strong handle on analytics, design, testing and the more technical side of social, but that ain’t what’s going to win you this gig — every candidate will bring this to the table. Even more important: reaching human beings through the power of stories.
