The Hired Guns are looking for a Social Media Manager, Enterprise Communications with the mind of a PR strategist, the heartbeat of a reporter, and the spirit of a social influencer to take the helm of a multinational company’s core social presence and help super-charge their reputation as a world leader in healthcare.
Nitty Gritty
It’s your job to create the social voice and story for the company as a whole by curating from the universe of new content that its many divisions and product areas create every day. Your engaging, clickable, share-worthy posts will demonstrate the many-faceted nature of the important work they do by presenting new innovations and life-saving breakthroughs, diversity and social concern initiatives, stories of the company’s people and the communities they serve.
But it’s not always business as usual. With a big enterprise like this, news happens: that means that the social side of crisis communications will be an important part of your role. (If you’ve worked on crisis comms before, great, but if not, you’ll get a golden opportunity to learn it here!)
It’s a fast-paced environment where you’ll be engaging with stakeholders from many different business units to create a robust calendar and apply your judgment as to what’s newsworthy. You’ll make sure that the company’s social presence adheres to its overall content and communications strategies, and you’ll gather and analyze data on the results of your campaigns.
Hired Gun Profile
You come in with a minimum of 5 years of social media and content marketing experience, including concepting and executing full campaign lifecycles. You’re an excellent writer with a deep understanding of content strategy and content management, social media trends and the finer points of all major platforms, analytical tools and techniques. (Our client’s primary channels are Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram … as long as you know all the tricks for these platforms, you’re in great shape!)
Of course you need to be highly creative, but also a bit “corporate”. You’ve handled the complexities of working in a large, matrixed organization and dealt with many stakeholders. You know that in a place like that, there’s no room for someone who waits to be told what to do next: you take the initiative, craft ideas and pitch them passionately. You have a sense of what it takes to manage and enhance an organization’s reputation and manage its risks. We’d love to see experience from a variety of spaces, but some exposure to pharma or healthcare is a big plus.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, creed, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status, disability, or any other status protected by applicable law.
