The Hired Guns are seeking a highly strategic, deeply experienced VP of Product to drive product direction and digital growth for the nation’s most legendary sports media group. This job is fully remote, but you must have the flexibility to work on either East Coast or West Coast hours as needed.

This nationally celebrated publisher is quickly becoming the go-to digital platform for everything sports- and lifestyle-related. At this point in their trajectory, they need an expert VP of Product to join their team and own all digital product strategy for this legendary sports media destination and all its verticals. You’ll spearhead every facet of digital product creation, experience, and growth with a focus on both free and premium products for sports fans, and you’ll define and communicate the entire product vision and roadmap for this media group and its stakeholders. You will be tasked with quickly identifying new product opportunities that will increase traffic, revenue, and engagement. You will also create and define subscription offerings for their premium platform, fantasy, and betting products. Work alongside engineers, designers, editorial, sales, and marketing teams to define, prioritize, and bring to market new features while improving and iterating on existing functionality. Hands down, it’s a big job that will yield big rewards.

How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You have 10+ years of product management experience, specifically within the sports media industry. You’re a natural-born leader who has built large-scale product experiences across many major sports and lifestyle platforms. You excel at bringing innovative new products to market, and you have your finger on the pulse of all things sports-media related. You’ve worked at a highly matrixed news or media organization in the past where the pace was fast and you worked intensively with the executive team and stakeholders across the business to evangelize and create alignment. It’s easy for you to document, validate and prioritize product specifications within an Agile/Scrum development environment. Plus, you’re a dynamic people manager who can grow, manage, and lead a team to success.
