The Hired Guns are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager with retail / apparel experience to create impactful category growth for a $2-billion promotional products company that’s making huge strides in its digital experience.
Salary range: $89,000 to $143,000 per year
- Have complete ownership and accountability for apparel growth and overall product strategy
- Drive category sales and margin growth to reach the #1 or #2 position in the industry within three years
- Manage the full lifecycle of the SKU offering
Important: This Hybrid role will require you to spend one week out of every month on-site at the company’s HQ near Pittsburgh, PA.

This two-billion-dollar market leader in the personalized products space is looking for an apparel-focused Category Manager to take full ownership of growth and fulfill sales performance objectives for one or more apparel categories. In this role, you will actively manage the introduction of new products to support sales, margin, turn and ROI goals. You will lead a team of three (an assistant category manager and two product designers) with the focused aim of driving significant increases in category sales growth and volume. Finally, you will develop and manage category-level plans that dovetail with the company’s strategic and financial direction – ensuring that SKU’s are “PO Ready” and that margin targets and investment hurdles are attained. How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
In order to do this job right you must have three or more years of retail category management experience in apparel and at least a year of experience managing people. You must be a strategic planning and merchandising expert with deep experience in target customer and product trends, plus excellent performance analytics skills.
Note: you must be able to travel up to 25% of the time, including both domestic and international travel.
