As the Community Manager for this agency, the buck stops with you for all things social. You need to be a visionary, a strategist, a content creator, and an implementer. You’ll develop and execute a distinctive brand voice for your clients in the social space and start kicking off conversations immediately, hands-on and day-to-day. Your focus will be the big platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube) and building critical mass rapidly. In addition, you’ll serve as brand ambassador within existing online communities, discussion boards, and forums. To grow the follower base, you’ll develop and strengthen relationships with key bloggers and other online influencers. You’ll manage conversations both proactively (setting up conversation calendars that tie in with development efforts, events, media and promotional activities) and reactively (spotting trends and riding the waves of lifestyle news stories to elevate the brand in the minds of your followers).
You’ll collaborate with the agency’s strategists and account teams in order to stay in step with the latest developments, and you’ll also integrate closely with key players on the client side, such as legal, community relations, development, research, marketing and other partners. You’ll cover offline events (often in person) and report them into the social sphere. And you’ll serve as the guru and thought-leader who raises the social media consciousness of everyone around you within the agency, the clients, and beyond.
