The Hired Guns are seeking a Partnerships Director for a media giant that offers a combination of lifestyle, news, and service journalism. In this role you’ll oversee and nurture existing syndication deals that drive significant traffic to the company’s main content sites, reporting on partnership-related KPIs for various platforms, services and tools. You’ll spur growth for all digital biz-dev efforts and lead the charge on emerging syndication efforts and the innovation of new revenue streams.

This well-established publishing giant is expanding their digital footprint in several major and emerging markets, and they’re looking for a Partnerships Director to help them drive that growth. Beyond working with existing syndication partners (think: Yahoo!, Apple, MSN) to increase traffic, the Partnerships Director will also coordinate with regional editorial teams from across the country to gather, curate, and syndicate impactful and relevant affiliate content.
As a key liaison between the editorial and business sides of the house, you’ll help them strategize ways to meet and exceed revenue goals. You’ll be in charge of prioritizing and executing new deals and managing existing relationships with a focus on increasing traffic, broadening audience to sustain ad-supported sites, and adding subscribers for both free and paid newsletters.
Reporting to the VP of Revenue, you’ll liaise with the Director of Content Marketing and product/engineering stakeholders to propel traffic and drive business. While some properties are already in play, others are still in the process of launching, so you’re going to help get them up and running while managing relationships with merchants, tech providers, and affiliate networks.
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
We’re looking for a candidate with three to four years of audience development, affiliate marketing, and partnership-building experience at a major digital property. You have a keen editorial sense, but are also revenue-savvy, with a data-driven POV. You’re a genius at leading cross-functional teams, developing relationships with advertisers, and managing contractors and agency resources with ease.
There’s going to be pressure, so we need someone who looks at that as an exciting challenge. You’ll excel in this role if you’re a talented juggler who’s skilled at handling myriad moving parts.
